Admission Policy

Only visitors/delegates with pre booked tickets, visitors who book the day and exhibitor badge holders will be able to attend The London Book Fair.

Visitors should be involved in or have some connection or interest in The London Book Fair and associated industries.

Visitor badges cost £50 when booked online before Monday 09 April 2018, after that date bookings can be made onsite upon arrival at The London Book Fair at a cost of £55. These costs include Value Added Tax.

Priority Access tickets are £100 and provide access to the Fair at 8:45 each morning of the Fair, ahead of normal Visitor tickets. These costs include Value Added Tax.

Badge holders must not allow their badges to be worn by anyone else. Any failure is likely to lead to the badge holder and the person wearing the badge being required to leave The London Book Fair.

Anyone obtaining a visitor, delegate or exhibitor badge by theft, deception or other illegal means may be asked to leave The London Book Fair. 

Anyone attending The London Book Fair should carry some form of photo-ID (passport, photo-ID driving licence, national identity card) or other identification acceptable to the Organisers. Admission to the show may be subject to a random bag search and ID check. For more details please read Service, Safety and Security at our Events.

No one under the age of 16 will be able to attend The London Book Fair unless they have obtained the prior written consent of the Organisers and may be required by the Organisers to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Visitors with children will be responsible for their children and will be asked to put their mobile number on a wristband to be worn by the child.

Anyone attending The London Book Fair must not take part in any canvassing, leafleting, demonstrations, objectionable behaviour or wear offensive apparel or be involved in any activity which may disrupt The London Book Fair.

The Organisers reserve the right to exclude or to require that any person leaves The London Book Fair and Olympia who does not comply with this policy or whom they reasonably consider are likely to break these rules or who are prohibited from attending under any applicable sanctions, laws or regulations.

Press badges at The London Book Fair are restricted to publishers, editors, journalists, photographers, broadcasters and web bloggers associated with the publishing industry. Members of the press may be required to complete an application form and produce accreditation in the form of a photocopy of a recognised press or media card, business card, NUJ card, a letter from the editor or an official web address linking to a press release in order to verify their position. Press applications from advertising personnel and media sales representatives will not be accepted.

Official photographers appointed by the Organisers will be taking photographs and filming videos at The London Book Fair. Anyone attending The London Book Fair consents to such photography and filming without compensation and confirms that the Organisers shall be entitled to use such photographs and videos, which may include photographs and videos of visitors, for the purpose of marketing The London Book Fair in future and for exploitation in any and all media without liability.

There are no refunds or exchanges offered on exhibitor and visitor badges or conference bookings. Reed Exhibitions Limited reserves the right to change the content, timing and venue of the conference and The London Book Fair. If for any reason outside the control of  Reed Exhibitions Limited including, without limitation, an act of terrorism, extreme weather conditions or industrial action, the venue changes or the event is cancelled, Reed Exhibitions Limited shall endeavour to reschedule but shall have no further liability to exhibitors, visitors and conference attendees.

Anyone attending any session in the Tech Theatre, on Author HQ, The Cross Media collective Theatre, The Faculty, The Children’s Hub, The High Street Theatre, or the Literary Translation Centre will be scanned and through such attendance will be agreeing to be contacted by the seminar host about this session.

If your badge is scanned by an exhibitor on an exhibitor stand you are opting-in to receiving communications from that entity. You will be subject to their communications and privacy policy and must opt-out with them directly if you so wish.

By registering to attend The London Book Fair you will automatically have an account created for you on our website allowing you to use our planning tools and message exhibitors before the event. Your contact details will only be shared with the exhibitors you contact or favourite and you can amend these settings at any time via the website.

Service, Safety and Security at our Events

The safety and security of our staff and attendees is our priority. We work closely with the venue, local and national authorities to identify risks, assess them and develop security plans for our events.

Everyone attending our events should be aware that the following are in place:

  • Customer Service staff may approach you to assist you outside, at entry or inside the event
  • Staff and attendees are required to wear ID badges provided
  • Bag checks are in operation at our events
  • Walkthrough or hand held scanners may be in operation at our events
  • CCTV in operation at our events is monitored and recorded
  • Uniformed and covert Security Guards are in attendance at our events
  • Uniformed and covert Police are in attendance at some of our events
  • Canine Security and Detection is in operation at some of our events

Everyone attending our events is requested to:

  • Keep personal property with you at all times and do not leave any items unattended
  • Report anything that looks unusual, suspicious or just out of place to a member of event staff
  • Remain patient and courteous with event staff undertaking security checks.
  • Follow the instructions of event staff at all times
  • On their final visit to the event, dispose of their badge inside the event or when they’ve returned home, not in bins immediately outside the event.
  • Carry a recognised form of photo ID with them at all times.

The London Book Fair Quantum: Consumer Insights and so much more Conference

To attend The London Book Fair Quantum Conference full payment of the delegate fee is required by the delegate to Reed Exhibitions Limited, the Organisers, in advance either by Visa Card, Master Card, Amex or by cash, cheque or bank transfer. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse any application to attend The London Book Fair Quantum Conference.

No refunds will be given if a delegate to The London Book Fair Quantum Conference cancels their place. However, delegates may substitute another person in their place at no cost provided that this is notified to the Organisers on or before Thursday 05 March 2018. To substitute another delegate, please email Orna O'Brien at orna.obrien@reedexpo.co.uk with the following information: Your name and the name, email address and telephone number of your replacement delegate.

The Organisers reserve the right to change the content, speakers, timing and venue of The London Book Fair Quantum Conference. 

The delegate shall be entitled to a full refund in the event that The London Book Fair Quantum Conference is cancelled by the Organisers or is cancelled due to circumstances outside the Organisers’ control. To the extent permitted by law, the Organisers’ liability to the delegate is limited to the amount of the delegate fee. 

The delegate shall comply with The London Book Fair Visitor Admissions Policy for which for which see above.

Introduction to Rights Workshop 2018
Terms and Conditions

To attend The London Book Fair Introduction to Rights Workshop full payment of the delegate fee is required by the delegate to Reed Exhibitions Limited, the Organisers, either by Visa Card, Master Card, Amex at the time of application. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse any application to attend The London Book Fair Introduction to Rights Workshop and refund any delegate payment made. 

No refunds will be given if a delegate to The London Book Fair Introduction to Rights Workshop cancels their place. However, delegates may substitute another person in their place at no cost provided that this is notified to the Organisers on or before Thursday 05 March 2018.
